"I loved the food, the atmosphere, and the service. Chef Peggi sat at my table and we talked about everything from parenting, balancing work schedules, the restaurant's origins and her training -- the raspberry saki was very good. I've eaten Sushi all around the world and this wins for the ultimate combo of food, service & calm surroundings and decor." - glw posted Wednesday, April 6, 2005
"I have eaten at some of the best sushi bars in the country, including Matsuhisa in Los Angeles which is rated one of the best suhsi bars in the world and Ichiban ranks right up there. The atmosphere is great and the sushi is WONDERFUL! It is defiantly one of the best restaurants in Utah. If you have the chance to go, don't pass it up!!" - dw posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"Some of the best sushi in town, set in one of the most beautiful buildings. This stained glass church-turned-restaurant is a great place to enjoy spectacular Japanese food. Sit at the sushi bar or at a table --- you'll love it either way. Perfect for anyone, whether you're a sushi connoisseur or a little bit 'raw' yourself. Ask for a description of some of the sushi rolls that aren't on the menu. My favorites: Jupiter, Mars, and Park City rolls." - rb posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"Ichiban Sushi IS THE WORST JAPANESE RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. The service, first of all, was HORRIBLE! I have never had such ridicuously slow service accompanied by a rude waitress and mediocre food. The freshness was way below par, which is unacceptable if your restaurant is boasting being the "best sushi in the Wasatch Mountains". When talking to the manager, we were treated like dirt and I was very unhappy with her as well as everything else. My recommendation is do not go to this restaurant even if you are starving." - cs posted Friday, February 27, 2004
"After living in Japan for three years I was looking forward to eating some good Japanese food in Salt Lake. I ordered tempura and sushi here and was very disappointed. Although it would be hard to compare a Japanese restaurant to the real thing in Japan I expected better than what I got. The tako (octupus)was returned to the kitchen as it was obviously not fresh. The tempura was heavy, oily and dropped on a plate as if it was a brick of onion rings at a hamburger diner. Although the restaurant had a fabulous atmosphere, I can not recommend this place for those who want real Japanese food." - gdb posted Sunday, November 26, 2000
"Some of the best Sushi I have ever tasted. Fantastic atmosphere, reasonable prices, and fine wine selection." - ka posted Thursday, May 11, 2000
