"Horrible" - GS posted Wednesday, July 6, 2005
"the place is too crowded and hectic. quality suffers. Not a relaxing dining experience. " - soso posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"I loved Mi Piace. The food was fabulous. I wouldn't know what frozen food taste like because I've never had it before but I doubt you could seriously compare the two. And if you've ever lived or even been to Italy you would know what great Italian food taste like when you had it. I recommend Mi Piace to anyone who can appreciate great Italian food." - km posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"The service was abominable. I should have eased dropped on a neighboring table that was complaining to the manager about the terrible service but I thought it wouldn't happen to me. I should have walked out but we thought it would get better - obviously it didn't. It was not busy, it was the afternoon of Dec 26th. We walked right it to be seated. Not bad I thought. We saw the waitress for the order, delivery of the food and the bill. The bus boy was the "waiter". We asked the manager for help but nothing came of it. When we left, I told the manager how disappointed we were and he looked at me with the blank stare - duh. There was no explanation of "the problem" or any problem or an effort to correct this for repeat business. I dine out often usually in the Westside of Los Angeles and this was recommended. I don't think I'll be taking my clients or my associates here or recommending this to anyone except my enemies. However, I have also noticed that there are other simular reviews in other dining guides about the awful service at Mi Piace in Pasadena (dailydiner.com) that I now wish that I have read before I tried this place. This restaurant gets a lot of walk in traffic so I guess service is a very low priority. This has been a good lesson in which I will always question establishments that have very good locations that overshadows the basic assumption of being courteous to the customer." - SH posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"One of the best restaurants in all of LA. Great food and atmosphere." - jp posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"The food was yummy!!! I'm glad they finally moved to Calabasas" - kt posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"I had a fabulous evening. I had dinner at Mi Piace with three other friends and we had a great time. The food was delicious the waiter was right on time all of the time. Fresh bread was always on the table as well as fresh water. He always checked on us to make sure everything was alright. Music was a bit loud, but it made the atmosphere more fun, (which is why I am sure they play it that loud). I recommend it to everyone." - cc posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"I will never set foot in that place again! Very unprofessional management, touching women when and where completely inappropriate! Lost a lot of business that way." - ja posted Monday, January 14, 2002
"I also had a bad experience at Mi Piace. The food was just so-so, we paid our bill, and left. Shortly afterward, we realized that we had accidentally left a pair of expensive sunglasses on the table. We immediately returned but the manager claimed that no one had seen the sunglasses. We asked to talk to the people who bussed the tables, since there are usually only 1 or 2 of them, but he just said that no one had seen the glasses and that was that. It really left a bitter taste in our mouths!" - pt posted Saturday, December 1, 2001
"Bad food, bad service, and a long wait!!! F.Y.I. the owners of Mi Piace aren't even Italian---that's probably why the food sucks!!!! You're better off at Il Fornaio or Sorriso where one could get great authentic italian food and service." - gp posted Wednesday, December 6, 2000
"I like it! Especially good -- lunch special -- Chicken Marco Pollo. Friendly staff, moderately priced." - ab posted Wednesday, December 6, 2000
"I was disapointed after my visit there. My boss took me out that day and said that it had great food, but I found it to be very mediocre, and not worth the amount of money she paid! The waitress was in a nasty mood, and seemed to not want to be there. We had to wait 35 minuts for our cappuccinos and there was hardly anyone in the place! To top it off, we had to witness the owner degrade his employee about a little spot on the white table cloth at the table next to us!" - CF posted Tuesday, June 6, 2000
"Thank you for the honest critiques of this place. Now that I know I'm not alone . . . let me tell you how i really feel:Food: Either it's served bland or over-salted, boring menu; Atmosphere: Overcrowded, Pretentious; Service: Understaffed; Cost: OVERPRICED! This place is for yuppies or yuppie wannabe's who think paying high prices for glops of pasta is cool!" - ez posted Wednesday, May 31, 2000
"I couldn't even get into this restaurant to eat. My friend and I are descent people and we can't figure out why we couldn't get in. The manager was very rude to us. Other people also without reservations dressed very badly were walking in and getting seated immediately. After seeing many people get in without reservations and we couldn't we left. I will never ever try to get into this restaurant. I hope they burn down. " - tr posted Thursday, May 25, 2000
"For a number of years, we ate at Mi Piace at least three times a month. Not anymore. Enough said." - wc posted Tuesday, May 16, 2000
"Classy, trendy Italian. Great atmosphere, pretty good food." - BK posted
"Having been to many Italian restaurants both in LA and Italy, I rank Mi Piace as one of my least favorite Italian restaurant. The food is prepared in a very cafateria style manner. It seems like the management is more interested in maki ng a couple dollars rather than servi ng a well prepared dish." - SD posted
"Thank you, SD, for the first honest review I have read regarding Mi Piace. Having also eaten in lots of Italian restaurants, in both Italy and the US, I find this restaurant horrifyingly overrated. The food is not special, and it's always jammed with those who want to be seen. What a bore. Go across the street to Sorriso. You'll get better food and better service. They also now have a lovely romantic garden patio in the back." - DS posted
"I first went to Mi Piace when it first opened a number of years ago. Eversince they expanded, the food has dropped in quality and so has the sequence of service. We (a party of 4) found the food too salty and not hot - it was lukewarm. Three main coursesa arrived and the fourth one came about 5 minutes later. Overall, not a good experience. If it wasn't for the pleasant waitress and the interesting mix of people, the evening would have been a disaster!!! PT" - PT posted
"The atmosphere is fun and upbeat, but the food lacks pizazz and is very uninteresting. I've had better Italian food in the frozen food section. Great place to people watch...if that's the case, sit at the bar and have a glass of wine." - K posted
