"In response to all of the rave reviews given to BC's as we native Pasadenans call it,
all I can say is,Are you on drugs? This place sucks big time and it has been this way for many years.I can remember a time in the 70's when it was ok,but those days are gone forever.Highlights of my most recent and hopefully last meal there include a philly cheesteak unrecognizable as such, a strange chicken cordon-something with an even stranger sauce, middle eastern mystery-kabob served on a bed of mashed potatoes?!! and the asian chicken slad served with not wontons, but little lavosh bread triangles.....weird. I,being a veteran, ordered the cheeseburger special that comes with fries and drink for about 4.00.....it sucked as well, so I wasn't disapponted. The food was os bad we were making jokes about it and the owner heard us and sent over MORE BAD FOOD AND BAD DESSERTS....I think he missed the point.Nice of him to do it,though. Insiders tell me that there are cleaner kitchens
in an ebolla infested african village, so don't say you weren't warned.I'm guessing that all of these folks that love the middle eastern offerings here are probably from Palmdale and eat at Chili's frequently. Have fun!" - cmc posted Saturday, March 31, 2007
"The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was electric and the whole experiance was a tremendous joy. The place has very reasonable prices and offers great deals. When i went in i was ib the mood for a lamb dish. After i ordered they told me that salad bar and appetizers where included with my meal and all the meals ordered at the table. the band was faboulos singing a variety of songs from frank sinatra to greek folk songs. It is definatly a place to take a family and the place to go to have fun on a friday or saturday night. - AH" - ah posted Monday, August 1, 2005
"this place is a mixed bag of tricks. Although the quantityof food is not to be disputed, methinks the quality of the ingredients and their subsequent preparation is at times suspect." - soso posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"I do not know about the other comments, but I am very disappointed with this restaurant. First time I went there with my girlfriend, I stood at the entrance for a few minutes and no one greeted me to show me to my table. After wondering around for a few minutes I left the restaurant frustrated. I though I'd give another chance so on another occasion I called to make a reservation for Saturday evening bettween 8:30 to 8:45 (in case I ran little late). The owner/manager or whoever was on the phone told me that it has to be either 8:30 or 8:45. He told me that he can not hold a table for me for even 5 minutes and I had to be there exactly on time. The person on the telephone was very rude. I finally gave up and decided to go to another restaurant (Santorini) where my presence / money was appreciated and I enjoyed great Italian food and curtius service. I would never go to Burger Continental." - E.N. posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"Coming from a Pasadena native of 30 years, "BC" has gone way down hill. Some of the comments I read re: BC were probably from people who don't get out much...Over priced, portions doctored up to look plentiful but underneath, lies too much potato or salad to buff it up. Taste is mediocre on all entrees especially the pork chops - looked like a cat carcass. Beer was watered down and flat. Only positive was the pizza and that is really stretching it..." - KD posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"I went there last month for there sunday brunch buffet. The place was a bloody zoo. This place has got to move to a bigger location. The service was bad. After coming back from the buffet-line, I discovered that the waiter gave our table away to another party! The food was horrible! The "belly dancer" was not sexy at all. In fact she ruined my appetite. If they are going to have belly dancing, they should do it right. I won't be going back. " - WT posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"I wonder how old these reviews are... perhaps if they were dated it would help. Everyone I know agrees that BC used to be a great place to eat butnow the service is awful and the food not much better. I love middle eastern food and know of many good places to eat in LA - but BurgerContinental does NOT make the list." - AMC posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"Don't let the name fool you! Boy where we surprised when we found this great restaurant. We make the trek from Valencia just to eat outstanding, affordable Greek food. Alex the waiter is the greatest! " - LI posted Friday, October 22, 2004
""Burger Continental" was awesome! Waiter "Alex" very attentive andfood is traditional Greek great! Try the dinner combos all are wellworth the $10- prices. Huge portions make for great take home meal." - BP posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"The resturaunt is great on a friday, or saturday night. Gus the waiter is the best, so if you go to Burger Continental ask for Gus to be your server." - JD posted Friday, March 26, 2004
"It's a little crowded and if they're having live music it can be a little loud, but it's definitely a place to be. The staff is very friendly and family like, especially if you're familiar or from the area. The food is pretty good and most comes with greek soup and salad bar. The lemonade is excellent." - KI posted Friday, August 16, 2002
"Easily the WORST middle eastern food in Pasadena. Both entrees and appetizers are consistently poor--All entree meat is mysteriously diguised by a slathering of thick opaque sauce. The humous offered has zero taste--( I should not have to add salsa to make it have flavor)! Sources say the kitchen leaves MUCH to be desired. I am not taking anymore chances." - GG posted Wednesday, October 17, 2001
"Food is great, entertainment is great, value is O.K. Be sure to remember that you are not at a strip bar. Last time I was there, I accidentally forgot and rubbed my hummus all over the belly dancer's stomach and then tried to lick it off. I was asked to leave- geez, what ever happened to good service?" - posted Thursday, October 26, 2000
"This is the coolest place I have ever eaten at. I went to Pasadena on vacation last July and was very pleased with the food. I loved the music and belly dancers, needless to say I was very impressed." - md posted Saturday, February 26, 2000
"Belly dancer on the patio at lunch! Huge variety of items. Emphasis on Greek and Middle Eastern food, but very good burgers, burritos, and more sophisticated entrees. Waiters are quite competent and attentive. There's a buffet, but I didn't try it - looked good, though. My lamb sandwich was terrific, my companion's falafel was also excellent. The place was a lot of fun, although a little crowded. Quite unique." - MH posted
"All sorts of food, from burgers to middle eastern. Great lunch specials--check the whiteboard out front. Great baklava!" - BK posted
"An excellent place to have fun on a Friday of Saturday night. Live middle-eastern music and very exciting atmosphere. There is a belly dancer who emerges at one point in the evening dancing erotically one table at a time. There is also a lot of dancing going on among the other patrons." - EF posted
