"My husband and I were very disappointed with our meal hear. Very ill conceived, "Funny Food" from a kitchen which seemed more bent on trying strange combinations than producing edible dishes. I very rarely send food back to a kitchen, but here I was compelled to send back all three courses." - vt posted Friday, October 24, 2003
"Outstanding food, service and ambiance. Exquisitely prepared and presentation is excellent. The decor was amazingly warm and gracious. the napkins(light or dark) are presented by the hostess when your seated based upon the color of your attire. Drinks are generous and very very well prepared. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fine dining experience. " - lka posted Monday, July 7, 2003
"I don't know what planet poster DH was on, but I have dined several times within the last 3 months at Parkway Grill and each time has been excellent. This is a good upscale restaurant for groups who have various appetites. The steak dishes are excellent, and you must save room for the Creme Brulee Napoleon. The wine selection is very good, and there is a $15 corking fee if you bring your own." - MG posted Tuesday, November 27, 2001
"I ALWAYS recommend people to eat there, if they are not familiar with Pasadena and want to be guaranteed of a good meal. Service is excellent, and the restaurant itself is beautiful." - DS posted
"Long a real favorite for anniversaries, birthdays, etc., we have lately (as of February 1998, in our case) noticed a slight decline in expertise. Perhaps they'll recover; it's a pleasant, comfortable and attractive place with excellent service and often excellent food." - B&JB posted

"THE PARKWAY GRILL HAS DIMINISHED CONSIDERABLY SINCE IT'S "SALAD" DAYS. RECENTLY AFTER NOT HAVING BEEN THERE FOR A FEW YEARS, WE ORDERED 2 SALMON DISHES, ONE FROM THE REG MENU AND ONE FROM THE BOARD. BOTH WERE ORDINARY AT BEST, BUT WORST OF ALL, HAD BEEN SITTING UNDER THE SALAMANDER! THE SAUCES HAD SKINS! VEGGIES WERE LIMP. SERVICE WAS STRAINED. AND MY ONE PET PEEVE, THE BEAUTIFUL "ART" PLATES AND CHARGERS WERE CHIPPED AND WORN! (TOO MANY ROUNDS IN THE DISHWASHER) THE RESTAURANT WAS HALF FULL ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. WAS SORRY TO SEE THIS PASADENA MAINSTAY SO DIMINISHED. D.H." - DH posted
"After hearing so much good press about this restaurant, we [my wife and I, on her birthday] approached the evening with some expectation. We did not go away with many pleasant memories. The appetizer, a rock shrimp roll, was very good, but skimpy. The desserts were good. Everything in between was marginal,at best. My wife's pheasant was so heavily smoked, it might as well have been alligator. The centerpiece of my prawn dish was several very large [and very tough] prawns. The salads were, well, just salads. The only thing that was spectacular about the meal was the check. It was way too much to pay for mediocre food in a pleasant setting." - PK posted
