"Love Roscoe's. Their waffles just melt in your mouth especially with the whipped butter they serve. Chicken is always piping hot!! The only thing is that I am a little disappointed at the price hike it took in the matter of months. It went from about $10.00 to a whopping $15.00 for a plate of chicken & waffles. Either way, we only go there on special occasions now" - lsr posted Monday, June 13, 2005
"The BEST!!!!!!!!!! ever about a year ago my husband and I moved to az. from ca. and we can't find a dang thing like rosco's waffles and chicken. The waffles are soft and warm inside with just the per-fact tender crisp ourside. The chicken has a light thin crisp batter and with the warm surp you can't go wrong. "Have been going to the one in Pasadena and the one on Pico Blvd for quite a few years. The only thing I hate is --- HOW COME THERE'S NO ROSCOE'S IN ORANGE COUNTY!!! When we have that crave for chicken and waffles(smothered in that gravy) and the collard greens and the candied yam, there ain't no substitute?!!! My husband and I will drive 30miles just to have it. We are some insane Asian....! I might not have any idea of what good authentic Southern food or soul food really is, but great food is great food, simple as that. "I only went to Roscoe's once and we loved it. The chicken was good, but the waffle was the best waffle I've ever eaten. I wish I could go back, but life is so hectic. I know as soon as I get a chance to go to L.A., my first stop will be Roscoe's" - wrh posted Tuesday, July 20, 2004
"It's good and all... good enought o return, but I don't just drop the "best" handle too easily. And calling it Soul Food is a bit of a stretch, and not entirely fair to the real soul food eateries. It's just a successful black owned enterprise, but that doesn't make it a soul food restaurant." - ej posted Thursday, April 29, 2004
"yo- I am from NYC and I have been to some of the best soul food spots around the states the scoe's is definitely one of the best places the chicken is off the chain and the waffles are good not as good at the waffle house but the are good. you cannot go to cali without stopping by Roscoe's. "A must everytime I visit LA. And coming from the South (New Orleans) I find the fried chicken some of the best and the waffles...well I overdosed on them. Great food!" - JR posted Friday, February 20, 2004

"Good hearty food, fairly unique cuisine for Pasadena. The atmosphere matches it's style. " - KI posted Friday, August 16, 2002
"Nobody has waffles this good. The fried chicken goes great with them. I like to have a little chicken and waffle in each bite and smother it in syrup and butter. It might sound strange if you've never tried them together, but it's really good!" - amc posted Tuesday, January 23, 2001
"My absolute favorites are the waffles (secret recipe), I can't get enough. Chicken is a little dry, but slather on that brown gravy & its quite tasty." - jw posted Thursday, August 17, 2000
"Great southern fried chicken (and yes, waffles). Worth a visit, though not if you're watching your calories :-)" - BK posted
"I am new to California coming from Georgia, so I know that this place has nothing like Southern cooking. I was very disappointed and almost bothered that this is what's being passed off as Southern cooking in Cali." - CJ posted
