We ordered the catfish, sea scallops, and creme brulee. The catfish was okay but you can stop by any Chinese restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley and get something 100% tastier for half of the price. The scallops we small and not worth my taste buds. The creme brulee was also a disppointment. Fruit in the watery dessert? The dinner did come with a SMALL plate of sides... the sides were a joke. The design of the restaurant and the service were also nothing to rave about. Everything was bland and uneasy to the eye. This is one of the worst restaurant we've ever been to. We were told there were no tables available even through we could clearly see many open tables! We were the only people waiting to get in. What was that all about? None of us ever tried going back after that. Would rather go any place else with a friendly staff. The chef refused to prepare anything that deviated in any way at all from that which appeared on the menu. It is the first time this has ever happened to me in any restaurant after many years as a vegetarian. "We've been to a number of L.A. and "foodie" restaurants, and we have NEVER tasted food anywhere as spectacular as at Shiro. Every time we go it's a struggle between choosing some new dish that's sure to surprise and delight us, and one we are already ecstatic about. Highly recommended." - B&JB posted "Nobody makes ponzu sauce like Shiro." - DS posted "There's some wonderful, wonderful dishes like the Chinese Ravioli made with wonton skins and filled with salmon mousse.
