"My husband went to La Luna Negra on a quiet Thursday night andwe were very happy. We had a meal of tapas and sangria and we walkedout completely satified: great food, atmosphere and service. " - AMC

"I lived and worked in Spain for years, tasted many "authentic" tortillas de patata, and even perfected my own recipe over the last twelve years. And yet I can still appreciate the Tortilla Paisana here at La Luna Negra. They've elevated the mere bar food into something you'd want to leave your house to dine on, and it's excellent. " - rgu

"This is great restaurant! My boyfriend makes the two hour drive out here just for the Paea. I prefer the Seafood one myself. Their Tapas and Sangria are great and the entertainment-fun." - LPM

"My husband lived in Spain, and he's never complained about the food not being authentic. I think it's a great place to eat. We've been back many times." - bd

"Wow! It is only good for the entertainment. Having lived in Spain off and on for the past 9 years I was excited to see there was a Spanish restaurant in Pasadena for when I was homesick. I never expected it to be completely authentic, but it wasn't even close! Yes it was some kind of food, but not Spanish. I recall a line I saw in a movie called "The Big Night" in which a devoted chef accuses a bad restaurant of committing rape every time someone eats there. This would be Luna Negra!!!" - jm

"This place is a joke. There is very little connection to Spanish cuisine in this place. This first time I went I couldn't beleive they had problems cooking the staple of Spanish cuisine which is Tortilla de patata. I felt like going in the kitchen and showing them how to cook one. It is a simple dish and is eaten througout Spain, no matter the ethnic region. I gave this place a second chance a year after that experience and they still haven't improved. They don't even know at what temperature Fino/Manzanilla (wine from Andalucia known as sherry here) is to be served at. The problem is most Americans don't know what Spanish cuisine is. This restaurant of opening a Burger King in the heart of Madrid and saying this is authentic American cuisine(I better be careful, that is not far from the truth). " - smf

"Excelent food and desert, very nice atmosfier, me and my wife went there thursday night for her birthday and had a wonderfull night, there was a latin band who sounded so nice , they played salsa, merengue, cha cha and very romantic boleros, the singer is very pleasent and lovely hispanic young lady who has a beautifull voice, she sang happy birthday with tropical rythem, I recomend the place highly, very nice place to celebrate any occasion, the only thing was missing a dance flor." - as

"Not a bad place, if you ever get to sit down. The two times I've been, I made reservations. Both times we showed up on time, and were told it would be a "few minutes" and ended up waiting as much as 30 minutes. I normally wouldn't mind, but there were plenty of empty tables. What's the point in making a reservation then?? When we finally did eat, the food was average. We both had the beef tenderloin with a blue cheese crust. It was overdone and didn't taste of any cheese at all, never mind blue cheese. They do have good desserts though. The Next time I'll just go to the bar for dessert and Sangria... after I've had dinner somewhere else!" - JMW

"Very nice and pleasant restaurant. My family and I have visited on three occasions and have always been pleased with the service. The food is tasty and the presentation is excellent and generous. The only downside is the timing of flamenco dancing - around 10:30 p.m. They should definitely add an earlier show." - wc

"This Spanish tapas restaurant has been in Old Towne for awhile, but I revisited it when I found out there are professional Flamenco dancers performing on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30 p.m. WOW!! The show was great and upon recommendation by our waitress, we ordered the salmon salad. It was terrific!!! We also ordered other items, but were not as satisfied with them as we were this great salad. Next time, we'll order only the salad -- it's plenty for two!" - DS

"I went to this restaurant solely on the single review I read here and I was not disappointed! Went on a Thursday night and even though there were no flamenco dancing, there was Spanish guitar (you can dance flamenco, if you like). The salmon salad was great. Also would recommend the Paella Valenciana. I love this place, I'm going back! Right now!!!" - VV
