"Been to the one in Arcadia, not So. Pas. I thought their food was pretty good, considering it was a more family-style restaurant with good prices. I especially liked their garlic cheese bread and stuffed pasta shells. From my experience - not greasy at all...well, except for the baked meat lasagna. Other than that, pretty good eats for the price." - JED posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"Carmine's is dear to my heart. I've been going there for years for it's pleasant ambiance and great food. Both Carmine's are always very attentive. My favorite dish is the Chicken Florentine, angle hair pasta with chicken and spinach in a sinful cream sauce. There pizza is also pretty good but I always tend to have the same thing. The garlic cheese bread is heavenly." - vr posted Friday, March 5, 2004
"Everyone seems to love this place, but I think it is pretty ordinary Italian fare, and the pizza is not recommended for those who are looking for a NYC-level pizza--where can I find that!??" - jhg posted Tuesday, July 15, 2003
"Excellent Pizza. Good Lasagne. The other dishes I tried were mediocre (Ravioli, Chicken Sandwich). Reasonable Prices" - bk posted Friday, March 2, 2001
"THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT! MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN EATING AT THE SOUTH PASADENA LOCATION FOR YEARS AND IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER. ITS A NICE CASUAL ATMOSPHERE WITH FRIENDLY SERVICE. ITS ONE OF THOSE PLACES WHERE EVERYONE KNOWS YOUR NAME AND IF THEY DONT THEY WILL MAKE IT A POINT TO GET TO KNOW YOU. SOME OF OUR FAVORITES ARE THE GUMBI AND THE CHICKEN MARSALA, BUT THE BEST THING ON THE MENU IS THE PASTA ROSA, ITS AMAZING! ITS GREAT QUALITY FOOD AT REASONABLE PRICES AND THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE. THE PATIO IS RELAXING DURING THE SUMMER AND THEIR BAR IS ALWAYS FUN TO HANG OUT IN AFTER DINNER, IF YOU'RE NOT TOO FULL. THEY HAVE SOME GREAT BANDS ON THE WEEKENDS AND THE BEST MARTINIS IVE HAD ON THIS SIDE OF TOWN. OBVIOUSLY WE ARE BIG FANS, OH AND DONT FORGET TO SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT, THE TIRAMISU IS SINFUL. WE LOVE ALL THE SERVERS, BUT SOME OF OUR FAVORITES ARE MICHELE, DANIEL AND JULIE, YOU CAN REQUEST A SERVER, THEY LOVE IT. SO IF YOU'RE IN THE PASADENA AREA, TAKE A NIGHT AND GO TO CARMINES, YOU WILLL LOVE IT!" - CM posted Friday, January 5, 2001
"I have lunch there a couple of times a month...sometimes more. Everytime I go I can't believe the value! The food is always great and the portions have enlarged my waistline. The only problem is the service can be somewhat slow at times, but don't get me wrong it's worth the wait. " - SE posted Thursday, August 3, 2000
"Great Italian food at a reasonable price. Plenty of lunch values, and believe me, you get plenty of food! The servers are polite, but go for the food." - RK posted Wednesday, August 2, 2000
"This place rocks! Great, authentic Italian food for a very reasonable price. Service can occassionally be slow, but the food more than compensates for it. Try the Gumbi." - MV posted Wednesday, August 2, 2000
"I love the atmosphere in Carmine's. I have been there several times and never been disappointed. They serve the BEST Pasta Pescadore (available with either white, pink, or red sauce - I get the pink). The service has always been wonderful and it has a great atmosphere for a date as well as a family meal." - LME posted Thursday, May 4, 2000
"They serve fantastic, authentic Italian food, and the service is excellent. It is a family-owned restaurant, and the father-son owners are very gracious." - CL posted
"The food at this restaurant is an abomination. There is nothing authentically Italian about it, except the food servers were very nice. The food was TERRIBLE. I ordered sausage and peppers, with a side of spaghetti. How this dish could be ruined was beyond me, but they succeeded! Very, very oily. And the spaghetti sauce had a very sour taste. Don't bother with this place. Buy sauce in a jar from the market and eat at home." - DS posted
