"Blue Plate Diner has a lot of charm, but their lack of cleanliness is a real turn off. I keep trying to like this place - it has a unique exterior and a neighborhood hang out kind of feel - but every time I have encountered something unsanitary. These range from staring at a rotting piece of food under one of the booths to finding floaties in my drink. My last visit was the final straw. I opened the milk container they give you for coffee to find a crusty ring around the top. The milk was warm and had obviously been sitting out for quite some time. The staff is polite (they were kind enough to bring me a fresh container of milk) but I can't get past these oversights. I would not recommend eating here. " - SW

"LA style diner with an outdoor terrace. Great Eggs Benedict - Hollandaise made from scratch, not a nasty powdered mix. Try it for weekend breakfast - well worth going to and not well known enough. Beats the pants off of Ruth's in Emigration." - kgh
