"Have wanted to go there for more than 20 years -- big disappointment. Daughers made reservation six weeks in advance from California. Man who greeted us outside was only high point. Service was terrible -- begged for water and no refills. Saw waiter twice: when he took order and when he gave us our bill, saying "my pleasure" -- for what, ignoring us?! Never asked if we wanted wine with dinner, which we did, and efforts to flag down anyone else were futile. Assistant waiter seemed to wander looking lost. Two of us were sick all evening, throwing up. We blamed it on stomach flu, but who knows. We both had the scallops. Third person in party didn't and avoided "the flu". Have read reviews of Tavern on other sites, and they are terrible. Doesn't management care?" - AMS posted Monday, December 12, 2005

"I took my husband to New York for his 40th birthday - our first trip to the Big Apple and a birthday surprise for him. Tavern on the Green was definitely the best part about the weekend. The Crystal Room was breathtaking, the food was delicious and the service both friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back." - SL posted Friday, May 6, 2005
"My fiance and I went to Tavern on the Green a couple of years ago and found that it was a magical place. This might be a far fetched description of a restaurant, but for TOTG it holds true. The decor (with the lights and gardens) alone is ggod enough for a reservation. The food and service is impeccable. I would definitely recommend visiting TOTG on any vacation to NYC." - jju posted Monday, April 18, 2005
"My grown son and I ate at Tavern on the Green for a celebratory lunch. (He had just graduated with high honors from a CUNY school). We could not have selected a better place. The food was superior, the service impeccable. We ate outside beside a large tree ringed by beautiful flowers. It was our first time to TOTG, and we expected it to be a fine experience. It turned out to be WONDERFUL. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone." - JRW posted Sunday, August 24, 2003
