"It was the worse Mexican food ever. The beans were right out of a can. Awful meal. I'll stick with Lupe's in Thousand Oaks, CA." - bs

"Go to Don Cuco's and you'll never go back to El Torito. The margs are made with very little alcohol." - AK

"Been there twice at the Catina for tacos. The first time they were made fresh and were excellent. The second time I ordered and they were good (not great). They're a little pushy with the margaritas though." - MM

"I agree that it is sad to see the decline of what used to be a good restaurant. The last time I was in there was to order tortilla chips for a Cinco de Mayo party. I was first given 5 orders of tortilla soup. Then I was given 5 bags of tortilla STRIPS. Finally, I was given my original order of 5 bags of tortilla CHIPS. Who knew it would be so hard to get tortilla chips these days. I guess it is at El Torito!" - rss

"It's not often that I complain about service. Being in the restaurant business seems to make one more forgiveing. The last two times I've been to this restaurant have been truly disappointing. The one time I had a terrible server was forgivable. The second time I went it took 20 45 minutes to get a Margarita and another half hour after that to get a dinner salad. When we asked if we were going to be charged for the meal they took it off yet still charged for two shots and two margaritas that we never drank. When we asked the manager if he really expected us to pay for the bill, he then tore up the ticket and told us to have a nice evening! We've only been there a handful of times when we've had good service. " - JR

"It is sad to see the decline of what used to be out favorite restaraunt. On our last visit, the advertized flier showed complete dinners, for 2 at $19.95. When we presented the coupon, it was refused. The waitress, who wanted to give us the offer, said her manager specifically told her to refuse the coupon. I should have left right then and there, for more than just this false advertizing. We were placed in a small corner table, barely wide enough for the plate and silverware. Tables were so close, that the waiter at the table next to us had his tail end a bit too close for comfort as he bent to take orders. Both my daughter and I were hit in the head numerous times by the careless waiters as they walked past the table. Finally when I grabbed the tray to keep from getting hit, the waiter, rather than appologizing, onlys said "I didn't do it on purpose". I won't be going back. I also intend to persue this false advertizing issue.P.S. the food was mediocre" - JLG
