"Used to be a nice place but has since gone downhill...the food is substandard and the service is worse." - cc posted Thursday, March 31, 2005
"OVER RATED, OVER PRICED, AND OVER HERE. THE LEGENDERY PORTIONS AND SERVICE ARE HISTORY. THE SALAD WAS LIMITED AND UNINVITING. THE PORTIONS TOO SMALL. OUR ENTIRE DINNER PARTY LOOKED DISAPPOINTED FOLLOWING OUR MEAL. A BETTER IDEA AWAITS DINERS AT BANDITS BBQ." - GAM posted Thursday, March 31, 2005
"Great Prime Rib, salad was excellent, and service was good. Will definitely come back for seconds." - MGM posted Thursday, March 31, 2005
"I've had bad service before, but nothing like that @ Hungry Hunter in Thousand Oaks on Father's Day! Our reservation was for 8 p.m. & our dinner arrived @ 9:45 p.m.! And to top it off, dinner was cold! It'll be quite a while before I can step foot in their establishment again! And, believe me, they are going to hear from me!!" - dry posted Thursday, March 31, 2005
"Had dinner at the Ventura Hungry Hunter 3/29/05. Salad was good. We also ordered the clam chowder. It tasted like Cambells canned soup. Not tasty at all. The steak was okay but the red potatoes looked and tasted like they had been reheated several times. The vegetable medley consisted only of over cooked yellow squash (not a veggie medley)The baked potatoe also looked like a warm up from the day before. Wouldn't eat there again. "We're a mixed group of corporate people that experienced the worst service ever. Never will return. Food adequate at best." - posted Thursday, March 31, 2005

"Service bad at best, receptionist an airhead, all the food was improperly cooked (and who puts horseradish in a ceasar salad) Evan at $2.00 for a complete meal, I would not return." - JWB posted Thursday, March 18, 2004
"The food was quite good, but the very slow service ruined the occassion." - DDM posted Wednesday, October 30, 2002
"Good prime rib, not the best I've ever had, but good." - MM posted Monday, September 9, 2002
"This is a nice, middle of the road steakhouse. It has a good early bird special. Good place to take the relatives who you want to treat nicely but who won't try anything unusual." - nlr posted Thursday, December 27, 2001
"Food was good quality as usual, however the service once again put me off. The waitress missed her part several times thru the eve. On a Thurs eve & not very busy at all. Maybe just a lousy waitress. When she brought the check, she stood it up, open faced in front of my guests, like we were at a truck stop. If I have another experience like this one, on my next visit (their last chance), then I will not patronize their business anymore. " - mmg posted Thursday, November 29, 2001
"also had to wait every time, and was told that they don't do to go orders. I asked if they had doggie bags for leftovers, and maybe could use one for to go. They informed me that they did not, and we left. So far have never returned." - df posted Saturday, June 24, 2000
"The food wasn't very average and I agree with the other review about the "racial thing". We haven't been there for quite awhile but when we did in the middle of the week, the place was empty and we were asked if we had a reservation and then made to wait 45 minutes. The place was never even busy throughout the evening." - sa posted Thursday, May 25, 2000
"One of the most popular places in town, everyone recommends it. Very good food, nice setting, but make sure you have a reservation (and good luck finding parking!)." - BK posted
