"Food was edible but the service was awful. Our waitress was overtly friendly, loud, washed-out and obviously high on something. " - NP posted Saturday, March 31, 2007
"i use to work there for 3 years, and if you knew what happen behind closed doors YOU WOULDNT EAT THERE!!! its gross " - kh posted Saturday, March 31, 2007
"Best chopped liver ever!!" - mh posted Wednesday, August 3, 2005
"I love Roxy's. I went on the Sweet and Sour Cabbage Soup diet and lost almost 15 pounds so far. Roxy's is the place where I enjoy the soup the best. Especially with flanken. I always get extra bagel chips and several glasses of iced tea. The servers are great and remember not only my name, but my preferences. Management has always been friendly and approachable. I am a true Roxy's fan. Love the large pastrami sandwiches, and Matzo ball soup. " - GCK posted Wednesday, April 6, 2005
"Matzo ball soup was bland and tepid. " - CK posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"Food is so-so. Soda fountain is great (yum! Vanilla creme!) The best thing about this place is that it's practically the ONLY THING OPEN past 9 besides Denny's. Matzo ball soup is great for colds." - EHS posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"THE BEST MATZO, AND TUNA MELTS. LUNCH SERVICE IS PLEASANTLY RELAXED AND THEY WILL PICK UP THE PACE IF MENTIONED IN A HURRY. VERY ACCOMODATING AND GREAT DESSERTS, TOO. " - posted Thursday, July 15, 2004
"I agree....staff are all very rude/act as if they're doing you a favor by acknowledging you. I have been there only once but will NEVER return." - cc posted Sunday, June 13, 2004
"Go every weekend. Have our favorite waitress who taked extra special care of us. The portions are great! The waitress is great and we have never been disappointed!" - ks posted Friday, April 23, 2004
"Poor service; Didn't receive what I ordered, had to get up and steal place setting from other table, and she was slow with refills. Food was very mediocre. Bread was stale on one person's sandwich, pastrami was tough and fatty. Will not be going back." - MB posted Monday, August 25, 2003
"The first thing the locals mention when you move here is "avoid Roxy's!" Too bad. Agoura deli is pretty good but this town really needs a deli owner who cares to make his deli the best in town." - rgm posted Tuesday, July 22, 2003
"I refer to this place as "Roxy's Famous Rip-off" on account of both the high prices and the shameless attempt to copy Jerry's Famous Deli. Food and service are both passable, but not worth bragging about. I'd shrug my shoulders, but that would expend more effort than this place is worth." - JS posted Wednesday, July 9, 2003
"Very disappointed. The bread on my sandwich was so stale the crust was almost brittle, and the waitress never came back to the table to check on us. " - DM posted Friday, May 23, 2003
"What a disappointment, and I'm from the east coast too! Very plain food and sandwiches. And disappointing cole slaw. Wish there were a Max's Deli around here...." - EW posted Tuesday, February 11, 2003
"Good Lord. Have I ever eaten worse pizza? I know this isn't a pizza place, but it was truly foul. First time in my life I haven't taken the leftover pizza home. Service wasn't great either - it took my boyfriend about 15 minutes to get the side of salad dressing he asked for. I'm always suspicious of these places that have 400 items on the menu, as Roxy's does. Why not just narrow the menu down and make a few GOOD things?" - sed posted Monday, May 13, 2002
"overpriced and average food. you can do better." - DLD posted Friday, August 10, 2001
"We eat at Roxy's all the time. We enjoy the food and the portions are definitely large enough to split. We have always had good friendly service, so I am a little perplexed at some of the other negative comments that have been made." - SJ posted Thursday, August 2, 2001
"Love their deli sandwiches. The rubens are heavenly. The service has always been helpful when i am trying to decide on an entree. Great food . I highly recommend!" - K.A. posted Tuesday, July 17, 2001
"I HAVE BEEN COSTUMER AT ROXY'S FOR MANY YEARS, I ALWAYS ENJOY MATZOBALL SOUP AND PASTRAMI SANDWUICH, SERVICE IS REALLY GOOD. DC." - dc posted Tuesday, July 17, 2001
"Has the true flavor of a New York deli. Priced fairly with large portions. Young friendly servers were pleasant every time we were there. The other two delis in town are more like coffee shops that real delis. Service at Oak Tree is generally unfriendly. " - fr posted Tuesday, July 17, 2001
"Great service everytime I have gone. The rubens are wonderful. They are great about letting you split portions. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them." - A.S posted Monday, July 16, 2001
"My wife and I have been long time customers of Roxy's. Over the past year or so, we have noticed major changes in the attitude of the management as well as the quality of food. It used to be a place where you always had to wait for a table. Now it is very convienient if you are in a hurry. No waiting. The portions have gotten smaller, and they have become very abrasive when something about your order is not up to par with you. I am not aware of any new owners, but something has changed, and it will cost this restaurant it's business and reputation, which seems to be the general concensus with this message board." - tc posted Thursday, July 12, 2001
"Its to bad this place is going down hill it was good but it is just bad now" - fgfg posted Thursday, May 24, 2001
"Roxy's portions are huge, so go there with a big appetite. Their food is okay, but their desserts are wonderful! Definitely save room for it." - rss posted Friday, October 20, 2000
"Short review: Forget about Roxy's and go up the road to Oak Tree West at TO Blvd. and Westlake Blvd.Long Review: Bad service, tastless food, and unresponsive management. I tried to give the manager some feedback about his restaurant and he started arguing with me. Me: "Your salads don't come with much dressing." Manager: "Yeah, I always ask for extra on the side."Me: "The soup is bland. It tastes like you just passed the chicken over a pot of boiling water."Manager: "You could add some salt to it. There are salt shakers on the tables."Me: "If I wanted to do the cooking, I would have stayed at home."" - TJN posted Saturday, August 12, 2000
"Used to be a good deli, similar to Jerry's Deli in LA, but has slipped in the past several years to a private label Denny's." - jbb posted Tuesday, August 8, 2000
"Service is always mediocre at best and management is downright rude and unfriendly. Substitutions and leaving off items increases prices by at least $3 per dish. Avoided at all costs!" - df posted Saturday, June 24, 2000
"Referred to among our circle as Roxy's Infamously Overpriced Deli. The hot turkey sandwich and the desserts are good, but expect to feel pain in your wallet." - FR posted Thursday, May 4, 2000
"Don't understand what all the raves from people are about. The only thing worth getting are the desserts. The food is bland though large portions. So if you are looking for nourishment with no taste and need alot of food, Roxy's is the place." - CB posted Friday, March 10, 2000
"Food...depending on what is ordered...is so-so. Service is unpredictable. When we complained to management about a dish that was rather undercooked, we received an argument from the manager..which we felt was unacceptible. For deli...go to the Oak Tree West." - shh posted Tuesday, February 29, 2000
