"This goes back to the old place - my steak arrived and I put some salt on it only to find that someone had filled the salt shaker with SUGAR! The server found this funny but didn't want to exchange the plate; my fault, I should have raised more Hell, but with my family with me I didn't. Haven't been back since and probably won't." - gr posted Saturday, March 31, 2007
"We used to live in the Conejo Valley and have enjoyed Bandits from the day they opened. We really miss it. If anyone is interested in opening a restaurant you will do well up here in Crescent City. There is no BBQ within 150 miles of here. They will be busting down your doors to get in. We will welcome you greatly. We will enjoy your BBQ whenever we are in town. "Use to go there alot when they were at the old place, but I will never go there again after I was 86'd with a friend of mine. We are both professionals with good jobs and this 2 salesmen from the nearby Infinity Dealer shape came in drunk and sat next to us in the bar. The bartender served them, and then a guy that new one of the salesmen came in and was picking a fight with them.I told them to take it somewhere else as I was trying to watch a game on the bar TV. The manager heard all the noise and told us all to go. I said " My friend and I arent with THESE bozos! I am here just waatching the game" The bartender told us to go irregardless and my friend was so upset that he just left, saying that he was never 86'd anywhere. The bar remained full with drunken males, mostly white , and my friend and I , who are mexican and Native American were told to go. I will spend my money elsewhere. Bandits will never have my business." - GS posted Monday, August 8, 2005
"I loved the food but the service wasn't the best. However theBBQ baked beans are the best I have ever tasted anywhere. And I am a FAN of the Picnic for Two. YUM !!" - sba posted Tuesday, June 21, 2005
"Decor is fun - seeing the photos of Thousand Oaks history in the lobby is a treat.Food, on the other hand, is only so-so. I expect to have ribs falling off the bone, with flavor permeating through the meat, and to have pungent cole slaw - neither of which was true here.Just another chain, I guess. My standard for comparison is Michelbob's Ribs on Airport Road in Naples, Florida." - SJ posted Tuesday, June 21, 2005
"Mediocre 'que for higher prices. New location means there's no wait but they left the better food at the old place. " - MB posted Sunday, May 15, 2005
"Corn on the Cob was obviously frozen; Ribs were way undercooked and the sauce was nothing special. Had to try it, butnext time it's back to Wood Ranch." - MP posted Friday, May 13, 2005
"Excellent BBQ. Probably the best BBQ of its type in this area. Menu items mostly beef, beef ribs and chicken -- lacks pork BBQ menu items. Service is always friendly and efficient. Good family place and prices are reasonable compared to other BBQ joints in area." - PGH posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"This is not only the best BBQ Restaurant that I have ever been to, it is also the best Restaurant I have ever been to. Their Unbeatable Tri Tip Sandwich is to die for. Highly recommended. The service is also very good. This place is always packed on matter what day you go, so try and go early." - AK posted Friday, October 22, 2004
"We are regular customers of Bandits and we have never had a bad meal yet. The food is great, the help is wonderful and very friendly. Bandits is by far the best bar-q-que restaurant in Ventury County." - hk posted Monday, August 16, 2004
"Both times that we have eaten at this location the silverware has been dirty, the room too loud for conversation and the food only "so so". There won't be a third visit by us. " - SEK posted Thursday, June 3, 2004
"Great BBQ, I don't know what these other people are talking about, they have always had an A in the window as I can't wait for their new location to open sometime later this year." - BR posted Wednesday, March 31, 2004
"Best BBQ food by far at both their Thousand Oaks and Camarillo location. I checked out their website at www.banditsbbq.com and the menu got my mouth watering. I loved every part of the meal from the excellent food to the excellent staff!!! A++" - sb posted Sunday, February 23, 2003
"The best beef dip sandwich around. And, if that wasn't enough, they have the best fries. When leaving, the aroma outside is so pleasing, it beckons you to come back. The only negative thing I can say about this place is its size. But, I guess if they expanded, like most places, they would probably lose the quality." - plt posted Wednesday, September 11, 2002
"Wait was too long and my salad had a hair in it. Wonder if the health board has visited this place recently. There werent too many customers sitting around us either. Makes me wonder what the owner is doing? Go to wood ranch bbq, it's much better and less expensive." - KWL posted Tuesday, June 11, 2002
"I love Pork! and Bandits has the Fattest Pork Ribs I ever soar!Pork is my favorite food, and My Wife and I love to eat ALL THE TIME! True, we are a liitle bit on the chubby side but you only live once RIGHT? So when Family and Relatives come out from our native state of Iowa it's no surprise that we bring the whole kitten kaboodle along! My Mother used to pack me pork sandwiches in my lunch at school and I just ate and ate and ate! But even though I sure love my Dear Mama We just can't refuse splurging on Bandit's excellent BBQ!One more thing, I must confess... we eat at Bandits BBQ every single night! My wife and I cant leave the house..... we are sooooo fat that we cant leave so we ask all of our church friends to pick us up a TO-GO Pork Pack and really live it up!Thanks again Bandits BBQ, you make life complete for me... ha ha ha and my wife (you think I really have a wife?)" - CWC posted Wednesday, September 6, 2000
"Good food and friendly staff. I wonder a bit what their health rating is, though. Also, how come there's no stinking carbonation in their soft drinks?!? I have asked them numerous times, but they just don't get it." - FR posted Thursday, August 24, 2000
"Holy Cow! My mouth is still watering with flavor. The best BBQ I have had in the past 15 years. And believe me, I've been searching!!! " - ghs posted Thursday, August 10, 2000

"This is the best affordable BBQ place in the area. Prices are reasonable for lunch. Dinner is a bit high for what you get. There is a wait during peak hours. However it is usually only 15 minutes and the experience is worth waiting for. Great staff, great food, casual atmosphere." - CB posted Friday, March 10, 2000
"Great bbq! Great service. Always crowded but the wait for table has not been that long. Again...the bbq is great but the sides are not. They're cole slaw needs much improvement and they could use better variety. Otherwise, a big plus in this household." - shh posted Tuesday, February 29, 2000
"Decent BBQ at a fair price. It's not up to a true smoke house but the sauces are good and the meat is not dried out." - RMB posted
"My wife and I eat at Bandits BBQ at least once every week or two. We think it is the best BBQ house in the Conejo Valley. The food is always fresh and prepared to our liking. The staff is always efficient and friendly. We have tried all of the BBQ restaurants in the valley and the surrounding area - this is our first choice. We would highly recommend this BBQ place to anyone wants great BBQ." - RPW posted
