Featured Farm: Juniper Hill is Focused on Quality

RealEats supplier, Juniper Hill Farm

Adam Hainer knows that focusing on growing quality food will keep people coming back. He owns Juniper Hill Farm in Wadhams, NY, and he supplies the RealEats culinary team with leeks, fingerling potatoes, Hakurei turnips, and bell peppers.

RealEats is proud to support the local food economy in Upstate New York.

If it isn’t straight from Mother Nature herself, we don’t use it. That’s why Geneva, NY - the heart of the Finger Lakes - is an ideal location for our culinary team’s HQ. We’re surrounded by countless dedicated farmers like Adam who are just a hop, skip and a jump from the RealEats kitchen.

Why does RealEats buy local? Because it tastes better. Because it supports our economy. Because farmers feed families. And because the future of food is dependant on successful farms.

According to the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, New York is home to nearly 36,000 family farms producing some of the world's best food and helping to drive the New York State economy. How’s this for a dose of reality? Even though people are surrounded by real food, Americans spend 90% of their meal budget on processed food.

But food culture is changing. People want to know where their food comes from. It’s up to us - all of us - to make a commitment to responsible sourcing. RealEats is answering the call for simple, fast and affordable real-food meals. Thanks to farmers like Adam, we are able to create and deliver convenient, delicious, nutritious meals in an era when most options represent a significant time or health trade-off.

Aliya LeeKong, Head of Culinary for RealEats, is passionate about bringing global and socially conscious foods, spices, and traditions into everyday cooking. She’s proud to create recipes that utilize ingredients that can be locally-sourced.

“Sourcing locally means fresher, higher-quality, more nutrient-dense ingredients.  Period. The fact that sourcing this way supports the local community and is more environmentally-friendly makes it a no-brainer."

Adam takes great pride in the growing techniques for his farm, which exceed the requirements of the National Organic Program. Juniper Hill Farm is recognized by New York State as a Certified Naturally Grown Farm.

Adam says their Farm is expanding and they’ve “added more greenhouses in an effort to bring to market an earlier and higher quality variety of products.”

RealEats and Juniper Hill Farm are answering the demand for responsibly grown produce. The team at RealEats is excited to support Juniper Hill Farm in their continued growth.
